Southwest Souvenir Jacket - Navy
The Souvenir Jacket has earned it's place among vintage collectors for good reason, they are incredibly special pieces that had tons of sentimental value and each being unique to the original owner.
Post WWII, GIs would have these Souvenir Jackets made, often decorating their own flight jackets, with embroideries and patches that would represent places they traveled or different places they were stationed. From there, many different iterations took form, and the Souvenir Jackets evolved into a satin varsity-jacket-like creation with tons of beautiful embroideries.
The Southwest Souvenir Jacket is special to Wythe. Both sides (the jacket is reversible!) feature a chainstich-embroidered map of the American Southwest, places we've traveled and have made our own memories. The front of the outer side features two armadillos on the chest, while the reverse side shows off steer-heads, motifs both of which are also iconic to the southwest and to us.
